June’s Donor Spotlight: U.S. Bank
Article Published: June 7, 2017
Over the past two years, U.S. Bank has sponsored BizWorld for our 5th graders at Edward B. Cole, Sr. Academy (EBC Academy). BizWorld is a not for profit organization that teaches elementary and middle school children how to run a business through their entrepreneurship programs. EBC Academy’s two fifth grade classes had the opportunity to be part of a two-day field trip to the U.S. Bank headquarters in Irvine, CA. During the two-day experience, EBC scholars were hosted by U.S. Bank employees that helped coach, assist, and guide them through the amazing experience of launching their own fictitious business. With the help from U.S. Bank employees and BizWorld staff, scholars learned how to start, fund and run their own business. Our scholars had the opportunity to hear from Joe Hensley, Market President – Orange County and Carl Jordan, Senior Vice President Retail Metro Region Manager, over the two-day period. Both Mr. Hensley and Mr. Jordan shared inspiring messages that encouraged our scholars to dream big and work hard.
Templo Calvario CDC is grateful to U.S. Bank for their commitment and dedication to our EBC scholars. Thank you, U.S. Bank for investing so much in the lives of our students and our community. Partners like you are priceless; we appreciate your friendship and support as we strive to prepare tomorrow’s generations. The experiences that EBC scholars received because of your generosity will stay with them a lifetime.
