July’s Donor Spotlight
Article Published: July 7, 2017
Chick-fil-A is known for its delicious chicken sandwiches, for its quality customer service and for its commitment to local communities in which its franchised restaurants operate. Nick Jones, is the owner of the Chick-fil-A on Bristol and McArthur in Santa Ana and is also a mentor for our Banking On Our Youth financial literacy and entrepreneurship program (BOY). Nick’s commitment to Santa Ana communities is evident in so many ways: from his involvement with elementary schools to his mentorship commitment to four Santa Ana high school seniors to the events held at his restaurant that promote family and community values. Nick is an individual with a heart of gold and a great business mind, who understands how to run a business successfully but doesn’t forget to invest and give back to the communities he serves. In 2016 Nick’s restaurant sponsored the BOY kickoff event, which included 45 high school students from Santa Ana, their parents, as well as several Templo Calvario business partners. Nick also has become a regular contributor to our charter school, Edward B. Cole, Sr. Academy, where our families have enjoyed meals sponsored by Chick-fil-A, our students look forward to the monthly birthday celebrations with a free lunch, and the Chick-fil-A Cow. Just recently, Nick hired two of his mentees, Natalia Aparicio and Joanna Frias. Natalia and Joanna met Nick for the first time back in November of 2016; they never imagined that he would become their first boss after graduating high school. During his mentorship, Nick took time out of his busy schedule to conduct mock interviews with his mentees, he gave them constructive feedback and encouraged them to work hard towards accomplishing their dreams. After graduation, Nick encouraged the young ladies to apply for a job at his franchise, and both Natalia and Joanna are now in training! Natalia shared with us, “Although I’ve only been working here for less than a month, I can honestly say I feel like I’m already part of the Chick-fil-A family; the environment there is not only welcoming but super fun!” Because of Nick’s commitment to give back and make a difference in Santa Ana, lives are being changed, and our community is being transformed!
Thank you, Nick, for ALWAYS being so willing to invest in the lives of others, thank you for your commitment to Santa Ana and for making a difference in the lives of those around you. Thank you for collaborating with Templo Calvario CDC to transform lives and transform communities! Partners like you are the true heroes that make our city and our society a better place to live!
