On June 13, 2017, the Santa Ana Parent Project in partnership with the Santa Ana Unified School District, held their annual, Parent Leader Recognition Award Ceremony. Celebrating the parents that facilitated our Raising Highly Capable Kids Parenting Classes during our 2016-2017 school year.
48 Parent Leaders participated in over 30 Santa Ana schools. More than 3,000 volunteer hours, were given by our Parent Leaders impacting 523 parents and over 2,500 children.
Council member, David Benavides, from the City of Santa Ana awarded our parent leaders with a Recognition Certificate, for their outstanding contribution and dedication. The values that these classes teach are recognized to help children succeed in school and help them, and their parents become great members of society.
Additionally, the Santa Ana Unified School District also presented five of our parent leaders with the Parent of the Year Award during their XXII Annual Parent of the Year Celebration. Some parents shared that their motivation was due to the challenge implemented to them by the parenting classes to become more involved in their children’s schools.
Positive change continues to inspire us due to our amazing parent leaders, great partners, and generous donors. Thank you to all for your commitment and dedication to our parents and children. Although change does not occur overnight, your time and efforts have impacted and will continue to impact their lives
